The Best Thing in the Last Year

Today I gave my last class of the day an oral quiz. Students were being graded, not only on their answers to my questions, but also on the quality of questions they asked me. So when Ririko’s turn came, she asked me something like “What’s most interesting thing about your life in last year?” The syntax was all out of order, so I wasn’t sure if I’d understood correctly, but I answered “Living in Japan.” Then, without being prompted, she said “For me most interesting thing is meeting you.” 

Quick, somebody get a mop! Guaria-sensei’s heart has melted into a puddle.
